Job title: Accountant (New York, NY) 

 

Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts; ensure all balances trace to the trial balance. 

Prepare and post month-end journal entries with appropriate documentation. 

Review and record payroll activity, including accruals as needed. 

Maintain organized records of all journal entries, bank statements, and supporting documentation. 

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding items. 

Respond to ad hoc reporting requests and provide accounting support to staff. 

Assist in the preparation of tax filings, including Form 990 and 990-T schedules. 

Stay informed on changes in GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards. $73,070.00/year 

 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related fields.
